Ok that's a little lame but something I just learned.
Well not -just- just learned but I learned on Friday when our "blizzard" was on it's lovely way in...
btw- nothing really happened, almost no snow actually stuck so it was whatever... but it looked pretty bad during the morning hours which is when I learned this little trick
So I'm at my desk tinkering around with normal work stuff when one of the Pam's (there are like 4 Pam's on my floor) says that she saw someone with Minnesota plates with their wipers up. small talk later she's on the phone with a friend in MN asking why they do that... and then informs the group.
APPARENTLY
If it's going to be witch titty cold outside WHILE snowing... they do that so the wipers don't freeze ONTO the windshield.
This is a problem. Because when you try to use the wipers all you get is smeared ice and it's bad... especially when visibility is already low...
SO
there's a tip when you're in COLD weather with a need to drive...
thought that was a good thing to document here.
even though it wasn't unnecessary since we were lied to about this "blizzard"... was supposed to snow between 8-10 inches but no.... we got nothing.
We went and bought a bunch of groceries and stressed out making a menu for next week on a thursday night, so we planned from Friday to next weekend... for what... for nothing.... cause we could've just gone out to do shopping on sunday like we have been... but no.... the weather LIED to us... we got nothing except ice and cold... and then we did the whole throw hot water in the air and watch it turn into instant fog... it was crazy....
more later
